"Un-erasing NDN" is an archival giclee print on paper of an oil painting on Birch Wood.  This painting is part of 6 painting series created during a month long residency at Djerassi Resident Artist Program outside of Woodside, CA in the Santa Cruz mountains.

This series was inspired by the Indigenous protection of land and water from the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in North Dakota against eminent threats from the Embridge fossil fuel Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). Inspiration of the white rolling hills (grass planted for cattle ranching) of the Djearssi SMIP ranch, watching meteor showers, and reading the book "An Indigenous People's History of the United States" by Roxanne Dunbar Ortiz. I was contemplating the colonial transformation (physical, pyschological, ecological, and cultural) of Indigenous land into the U.S. imperialist nation-state's. Imagery from Klamath and Modoc basket designs are incorporated into the base layers. This series is titled "Savage Systms | Mni Wiconi" (which means "Water is Life" in Lakota, the phrase inspiring the NO DAPL protests).
